About Me

My Passion is Helping People Grow in

Who They Are & In Their Relationships

With Themselves, God, & Others

I decided I wanted to be a counselor when I was in 7th grade. I held on to that desire all the way through graduate school, but God had other plans for me. I have been so blessed the last 12 years to stay home with my kids and watch them grow, but seasons change, and I have recently come back to my first love, counseling. I have an M.A. in Counseling and am licensed as an ACMHC.

I strive to create a genuine, honest, non-judgmental, and empathetic relationship with my clients. I hope to foster a sense of safety, trust, and compassion as we work together to help manage relationship, anxiety, depression, and self-esteem issues and more. I believe people have the power to heal and grow. It’s my job to help my clients feel supported and to empower them with the tools needed to make lasting life changes. I work from an Adlerian model, believing everyone is a sum of all their parts and use tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, as well as other techniques, building a plan around my client’s needs.

I practice what I preach when it comes to maintaining my own mental health. I enjoy being in nature, listening to water flowing through creek beds and the sound of wind through the trees; it fills me with a holy peace and resets my busy mind. I also intentionally seek out community through my church, which makes me feel supported and loved. I find fulfillment in giving back, volunteering in my church and as a leader in a Christ centered, 12-step recovery program called Celebrate Recovery.

I believe we are capable of lasting change. We can rise from our ashes and learn how to make healthy life choices, create good boundaries, and pursue positive personal growth. Charles (Chuck) Swindoll said, “life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react.” Elbert Hubbard wrote, “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” And God said, “I never promised you a rose garden,” no wait, that was Lynn Anderson.
