Julie Posey, ACMHC

About Me

My passion is helping people grow in
who they are and in their relationships
with themselves, God, & others.

I have wanted to be a counselor since 7th grade and feel so blessed that God allowed me to follow my dreams and find a place here at Hope Christian Counseling. I currently have an M.A. in Counseling and am licensed as an ACMHC.

I strive to create a genuine, honest, non-judgmental, and empathetic relationship with my clients. I hope to foster a sense of safety, trust, and compassion as we work together to help manage anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, relationship issues, and whatever else you may be struggling with. I believe people have the power to heal and grow. It’s my job to help my clients feel supported and to empower them with the tools needed to make lasting life changes. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as other therapies and techniques, building a plan around my client’s needs. I am trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) for trauma and level 1 of The Gottman Method for marriage counseling.

I practice what I preach when it comes to maintaining my own mental health. I enjoy being in nature, listening to water flowing through creek beds and the sound of wind through the trees; it fills me with a holy peace and resets my busy mind. I also intentionally seek out community through my friends, family, and church, which makes me feel supported and loved.
